A new group of Americans is being targeted by the IRS

Biden's Inflation Reduction Act increased the Internal

Revenue Service's operating budget by tens of millions of dollars, and

IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel announced new

initiatives aimed at targeted high-income individuals.

Werfel said the IRS will particularly be seeking out those

who have avoided paying overdue taxes, including some large corporations.

Those targeted will include taxpayers

Who earn over $1 million and owe over $250,000 in tax debt.

Additionally, Werfel pointed out the IRS' commitment to expanding

Taxpayer Assistance Centers (TACs) and improving

taxpayer services by offering more mobile and digital services.
