Direct payment worth $914 arrives in 13 days from Social Security

Just under two weeks from now, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries will

Receive an unusual second payment in September. Individual filers may receive up to $914.

Due to a quirk in the Social Security Administration's calendar,

the second payment will replace October's monthly payment on Friday, Sept. 29.

During the first week of September, the first payment was issued.

The filers receive one payment per month, but if the installment falls on a weekend,

the recipients receive the payment on the last business day of the previous month.

An individual must be 65 or older and meet specific financial requirements to

Qualify for the federal program, which is separate from regular

Social Security retirement checks. If you are under 65 years of age and

are partially blind or suffer from a physical or mental condition that seriously limits your daily activities,

you may qualify. In addition, if their condition is expected to cause death, they may qualify.
