There will be a new $528 direct payment from a $1.6 million pot for

Americans over the next two years - see if you qualify

A new pilot program will provide $528 per month to Americans for two years.

City officials in Ann Arbor, Michigan, confirmed that

the guaranteed income program has been approved.

A total of $1.6 million in funds were allocated from the American Rescue Plan Act,

signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2021, to make this project possible.

The city is partnering with the University of Michigan to launch the program.

"Guaranteed income programs are flourishing in our country, and they are

Proving effective in combating generational poverty, said Mayor Christopher Taylor.

As a result of our partnership with the University of Michigan,

There will be a selection of 200 people from June 20 through July 3.

Ann Arbor will better understand the effectiveness of these programs,

and - more importantly - serve our community members in need."
